Academic Krasimira Koldamova,

Prima ballerina and pedagogue.

Krasimira Koldamova graduates from the State Ballet School in Sofia and later specializes at the Bolshoi Theatre school. She is a protegé of prima ballerina Lily Beron. She begins her career at the Sofia Opera. Krasimira Koldamova is one of the creators of the ballet “Arabesque.” She has performed over 60 roles in 70 productions and has toured worldwide, including being a prima ballerina with the French “Grand Ballet Classique.”
Krasimira Koldamova has danced on the stages of numerous international theaters. She has toured in Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and Latin America as a prima ballerina with the Sofia Opera; as an étoile with “Ballet Contemporain” (France 1968-1969); étoile with “Grand Ballet Classique de France” (1972-73); étoile with “Horevdrum Elinik” (Greece, 1973). She has danced and is familiar with the entire classical ballet repertoire, performing over 60 roles in 70 productions. She has served on the jury of international ballet competitions in New York (1984, 1987, 1990); Paris (1984); Ulgat, France (1986); Osaka (1991, 1995); Jackson (1994); Moscow (2007), as well as multiple times at the International Ballet Competition – Varna. She has been a teacher in Japan (1985, 1989); Italy (1990); Greece (1991, 1992). She has taught four graduating classes at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (1992, 1995, 2007, 2010). She was the artistic director of the State Choreographic School (1984-88). She has also played roles in cinema, including the film “We Were Young” by Binka Zhelyazkova and the ballet films “Poets of Dance” by Lyudmil Staykov and “The Doll” by Mikhail Pandurski. She is one of the creators of the ballet “Arabesque” (1967). She established the “Ballet Studio for Discovering and Developing Talent” (1991). As a director and choreographer in recent years, she has created ballet productions for children and youth. Currently, she works in the ballet studios at the “Petar Beron 1926” community center in Sofia.
